Midi Remote Scripts (Transport Buttons) ABLETON LIVE

Hi to all,

Here it is, an ableton template using the user remote scripts for ableton live to automap the controller transport buttons to the ableton's live Play, Pause, Record, Forward, Backward and Loop!

My setup is this:

On Windows Vista/Windows 7:

[Windows boot drive] > Users > [User Name] > AppData > Roaming > Ableton > Live 8.XX [your version] > Preferences > User Remote Scripts

On Mac:

[Library folder] > Preferences > Ableton > Live 8.XX [your version] > User Remote Scripts

Hi mauronedj,

I don't know much about remote script code and therefore I can't help you with this, but I recommend using Control Toggle for Host Ctrl #3 and #6 and maybe also for Host Control #4 and #5 because it makes much more sense to press those buttons once instead of holding them.

You can't hold the Record button while you record. Or do you play one handed?  ;)

You can find a table with the right settings for the Transport-/Sequencer-Buttons here.

Hi Manuel,
as you can see I've edited the first post, I've solved all the problems so now the scripts is fully functional!

I've tested it and for the midi remote scripts the buttons are only recognized if they send simple control settings, the rec and the other buttons work in the right way!

The forward and backward buttons is not avaiable in the simple midi map way, they are one of the secret function of live, reached with this special scripts!


I've added the folder for the mac users to use this scripts in the first post!

This is totally unofficial, but I have all Ableton Live 9 python remote scripts sources. I didn’t have any help from Ableton here, and I didn’t ask help, by the way. I decompiled them, unmarshalling some part of codes etc.

I’ll modify them quite soon in order to improve and change some PUSH behaviors in next days/weeks. The first idea is : find the way that fits my needs the MOST!
