Updating microbrute firmware error message

I dropped the firmware update file .mbf into my Applications folder and then clicked the Update Firmware button on the MicroBrute Connection app and it updated.  Hope this helps.

What version of OS X are you on? I'm on 10.12 and dropping this in to the applications folder has no effect?

I have an iMac on 10.12. Try dragging the .mbf file to the Applications folder in Finder, along with the extracted microbrute App. You should then see the exec icon in the apps folder in the mac dock. Click on the Midi app and it should work.

I'm on 10.12.6. Just placing the file in the same folder wasn't enough for MicroBrute Connection, but I finally succeeded by renaming the new file to the name of the old upgrade file, "MicroBrute_Firmware_Release_V1.0.3.2.mbf".

I used the software Midi Control Center to update the firmware.
First, the error message that the Micro Brute came is in bootloader mode, after the firmware update attempt by Micro Brute Connection.
Has given me but with the firmware update per instructions helped.
This then works fine.
