Spark Dubstep Pro tools 9 issue
« on: May 20, 2014, 07:23:41 am »
Hi All,
First time poster!
Today I purchased Spark Dubstep and the installation process was a breeze. Stand alone works great, but i cant get more than 5 minutes using SDS as a plug-in in pro tools before it freezes and crashes my computer. I end up having to do a hard reset on my PC.

I am running Pro tools 9.0.3 and have the latest version of SDS 1.7.2.

The only parts I installed during the installation process were the Stand alone, Library and Rtas.

Where is the best place to install the library? By default it saves to My Documents.

I run Windows 7 and I have been successfully been using Pro tools 9 with a lot of plug-ins in a session without dramas for a long time - until I installed this program.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I sure have. After the initial problem i updated to 1.7.2 hoping for a fix, but no luck.

Tech service said they cant guarantee compatibility with pro tools 9, even though the specs say the RTAS version suits pro tools 10 and below.

Looks like I have just wasted my money :'(

I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch but I think I may have found some sort of "work around" for us poor old Pro tools 9 users.

After trying numerous times to uninstall,  re-install without much luck I tried once more.

This time I unchecked everything in the installation box except the library and the RTAS plug in. This time I did NOT install the standalone unit.

I had a memory from when I installed Superior drummer I think??? I can remember having all sorts of hassles with that until I got rid of the SA player.

So far, over 1 hour of beats played inside PT and not one crash, freeze, broken monitor or smashed mouse anywhere to be seen. Wish me luck! 8) 8) 8) 8)
