help with axiom controller set up for cs80v
« on: August 04, 2006, 09:31:20 am »
i have set up proper cc assignments on my axiom keyboard for cs80v.

i can see the proper cc's are working and sending out info using midi monitor

i can also see the midi in signal is working on the cs80v when i touch or move the sliders, but the  sound does not change, and the sliders on the cs80v do not move

the axiom does make the cs80 play sounds, and i can use the pitch and mod wheels

i've restarted all the hardware and software numerous times, all the cables work, and all the software is up to date

any thoughts why the cs80 v sees the midi transmission but is not accepting the transmission?

Ray, not sure why this is happening.  How are you making CC assignments on the CS-80V?  Are you using the MIDI learn function? i.e. cmd or ctrl-clicking the on-screen control.  There are a few CC numbers that CS-80V reserves and can't be assigned.  It's unlikely, but possible that you chose them.  The reserved CC's are 0, 1, 32, and 64.  Also, CC assignments are separate for each of the 8 voices in MULTI mode.  For troubleshooting your problem make sure the MULTI hatch is closed.  That's all I can think of right now.

Again, how are you assigning CC's on the CS-80V itself?  (I'm not asking about the Axiom/Enigma settings.)  The CC list you posted should be fine, provided CS-80V controls are assigned accordingly.

i tried assigning them manually on the axiom and saving as a new preset

i also tried in enigma software

i now have it working as i tried using the midi learn feature suggested from the enigma user groups

i'm glad it now works, but i don't understand as the settings were all proper and sending out the correct info but nt being received correctly on the cs80v
