Compatible sustain pedals?
« on: November 26, 2018, 07:17:52 pm »
Docs says "Compatible with continuous pedals and footswitches"

Are there any particular models that you know work well?

Is this the same as "half-pedal" or truly continuous?

Looking at pedals out there, often hard to find out what they support (that's when they're not positively lying)

Thanks

Hi,

Hum beside the Korg DS1 H that has a lower output voltage that is not in the range of the KLMK2 (you could still make it work with the sustain configuration in the Midi Control Center though), every other pedals should do the trick...

The KLMK2 do support half damping.

Regards,

Matthieu

Every other pedal?

I'm looking for continuous sustain pedals that are known to work, not on/off pedals

Many pedals out there are vague about what they support or even claim to be continuous/half, when they simply don't

I would have thought someone at Arturia would have tried this

I'm not keen on getting a pedal and finding it doesn't work

Ok, to answer my own question:

The Roland DP-10 works lovely

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000B63CDK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Set its switch to continuous, then tell MCC that the port is control, i.e. click on the sustain socket, save to device etc

If you plug it into the expression pedal, it stops acting as sustain and acts as expression (MCC should already be setup for expression/continuous)

Beware buggy firmware, roll back to prev to get sane sustain

https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=94538.0

I was going mental, wondering why it no longer worked in user mode (only switched)

Then went back to old copy, all was fine

I know this thread is kinda old, but I just wanted to add my quick 2 cents. I had a bit of trouble getting effective expression pedal control with my KeyLabs too. I am using a Mission Engineering EP-1 now and I can assure you it’s working beautifully for me! I reviewed the pedal, just in case you’re interested.
Here’s the link.
