Author Topic: Arturia V Collection 8 upgrade plugins fail to open in NI Maschine & Komplete K  (Read 1414 times)

Just recently upgraded to Arturia V Collection 8 from Collection 5. All Arturia plugins work fine in stand alone and in Cubase 11. None of the upgrade plugins in ver8 will load in either Maschine or Komplete Kontrol. The plugins from ver5 will load though. I have rescanned and now Komplete Kontrol freezes on a ver8 plugin scan . Maschine will complete the scan (I think) & show everything in the browser. The preview sounds will play, but for every ver8 preset I attempt to load the error message pops up with "cannot load the preset".

I have deleted the db.db3 file. That didn't help



Any ideas how to solve this?

I'm on Windows 10.

I know nothing about Machine.
I have the Komplete Kontrol software, and i have'nt issues it look like.
I use Arturias own preset system outside Komplete Kontrol.

Are you selecting presets in Komplete Kontrols preset selector or inside the loaded Arturia application, when you get the issue?

NKS presets and the presets Arturias software use are not the same files.
So when you talk about the database file, then is it the Arturia or the Komplete Kontrol file? It won't help on anything if you delete the wrong database file.

You talk about V-Collection 5 and V-Collection 8 presets. Which presets do you talk about, and how can you tell it's the one or the other? Do you have the same preset twice - one for each V-Collection?
Do you have both V-Collection 5 and 8 installed so you have multiple installs of the same application version - like dual installs of mini V3?

Be sure you don't have multiple installs of the same applications, that is to be found in both V-Collection 5 and V-Collection 8. Ie Mini V3 is the same application in both collections, and you can get issues, if you have multiple installs of that including it's presets and other files.

If an application has been updated from ie a V1 to a V2 version, then they might not use the same presets. In that case you do need to have both the V1 and the V2 version installed.

Keep in mind, that V-Collection (VC) is'nt the same as ie V2 and V3. The V is a version of a single application in the VC.

SOLVED: I had put the NI rescan app in a separate folder to stop Maschine from automatically rescanning at start up. Putting it back in its default location solved the problem.
