Firmware 2.0 ad?
« on: April 19, 2021, 02:50:50 pm »
Is firmware 2.0 out? Saw this ad on gearspace.com and I cant find where to grab the 2.0 firmware. Does anyone know where it is?

Was probably posted too soon by accident.
Though if they have something like this already done and send to vendors I could imagine that it is mostly done.
Thanks a lot for posting gives me some hope that we don't have to wait that much longer.

Interesting move. I wonder if it is a publicity tactic to get folks talking about it early, then some media to post "hey look at this, arturia leaked firmware 2.0!" You gotta think it must be something like that or why else would you spend ad money before the thing is actually available. I guess t worked because we are talking about it. One way or another I'm very excited to check out what they have to offer.

I really don't think that it's that elaborate.
Because it's way to niche to get picked up by media, at least I still can't find anything regarding this.
Also I still don't see Arturia as a company who is pulling something like this of, just doens't seem to fit.
From my experience as a dev (not in this field or anything but just how tech companies work a lot of times) probably it was more like:

A: Hey we have this FW update and want you to advertise it at some date!
G: Sure let's do it!
A: Hey we saw that you posted the ad we asked you for, could you take that down again? We are not ready yet.
G: Okay.. sure.

and April is now gone

Well for starters they said “if all goes well we will release in April” so something might have not gone well !?
Also they said April but did not indicate what year. Maybe it’s April 2022 or 2023 😜

It is certainly a double edged sword, offering any date at all. If you don’t, people constantly ask for updates. If you do, and fall short, you’re out of the frying pan into the fire.

I’m still hopeful for an “underpromise/overdeliver” situation.

Which problem have arturia to integrate a steprecordingfunction or an editing function with the realtimevelocty. ( like the smaler keysteps)
Maybe they play too many happy knobbing with all thes encoders.Cant belive this uncreatitv workflow.
Or transpose by pressing a button at the same time and not the keys only.

V2 brings a lot of improvments in details or bugfixes.
But not simply older functions.
Sorry incredible.
