DAW CONTROL and FIRMWARE
« on: November 06, 2020, 06:42:25 pm »
Hi first day of owning have a couple of things I hope I can get help with here on the forum

I've got access to 3 DAWS

Ableton - KL seems to set itself up and works perfectly
Logic - had to set it up but KL works perfectly
Cubase - not getting it at all - followed the hints and tips - not getting it to work

Also - I was under the impression that I could select the DAW using the big encoder wheel on KEYLAB, as it offers all my DAWS as an option I thought I could just scroll to it and I'm away as the default set ups are stored on the unit (that's how promo video made it look).  Unless I'm doing it wrong the unit seems to stay on the last one I told it I was using in the Midi control App on a computer? Also can't update the firmware? but I've seen a few other posts on this so maybe this is in the process of being addressed

Love the keys and the build - what's with all the questions to just post / register :-\

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums,

I don't have a Arturia controller yet.

But have you looked in and followed the controllers manual chapter 4? Especially Section 4.2.
You can read this:
" 4.2. DAW preset selection
Hold the DAW mode button for 1 second to enter the DAW Preset selection page. Next, turn
the center knob and scroll through the list to find the name of your DAW. Click the center
knob to select that preset, and then the features of the KeyLab mkII will be reconfigured to
match the most important functions of your DAW..."

AFAIK it works, if your controller is set up correct in your DAWs. Does'nt it?
I think you are confusing the posts about the center knob that's not about this, but more are feature request for further functionality.

BTW: This should'nt be about firmware, but FYI i think a new firmware has been released in October.

Hi LBH

Red faced - haven’t tried that really obvious thing you suggested and I will

Let’s assume all will be well

Thanks for your warm welcome to the forum and patience 😎

I really like the keys action and the build on this machine so far it’s impressed me

But I’ve clearly not read the manual today have I 😂

The verification section on this forum is quite something isn’t it
