random value with every keypress
« on: April 24, 2020, 12:58:31 pm »
i'm trying to program a patch where every keypress triggers a random value. i guess this is done with an s&h lfo, but how do i get the value to stay while the key is pressed?

ok i put the lfo in single trigger mode with the lowest speed. it still changes values but in such a slow rate that it should do the trick. if anyone has a better method please let me know.

With S/H waveform on the LFO, it should keep the value until the next key press, when you have the trigger set to Single. It’s like an envelope, it should only change when you play a note.

The random wave/ smoothed S/H would be different in Single mode, it slides to a random value each time you play a note, with the speed of the slide coming from the LFO’s speed control.  The regular, sharp S/H wave should change instantly on key press, with the speed control having no effect.
