Request All Controllers MIDI message
« on: February 05, 2020, 11:16:10 pm »
Is there a “request all controllers” midi message received, that sends all current control values out as cc messages?

The applications are, say you start recording midi in your daw, and touch a knob- the control jumps to the knob value, and sends a cc message. You stop recording, rewind and play it again, but it sounds different... the control never went back to the original value, because the DAW never knew what that was. The request all controllers message would get the synth to spit out its controller values, if the daw asks.

It would also make 3rd party editors possible, to learn the current state of the synth. Thanks!

No, there's no such message implemented.

For an editor to learn the current state of the synth, it would need the mod matrix and sequencer data too. Perhaps we will see a full documented sysex implementation, meaning individual parameter get/set messages and individual and bulk dump of patches, that would enable 3rd party editors and librarians.

Yes, very keen to have MIDI access to all params of the synth..
Experiencing a flow of temporal information now, and in anticipation, and in retrospect.
