Big change in policy here I notice: Analog Lab 4 does not contain all the factory presets for the three new instruments, unlike in the past, just a rather bland selection to tempt your wallet into buying V Collection 7. Presumably not enough people were buying the full V Collection because they were happy with being able to access all the instruments' factory presets using only Analog Lab. But not any more. There appears to be no change to legacy instruments' presets; you can still access them all. But equally that could be because I just happen to own VC6.

Their pricing structure is having a laugh as well: €199 as an existing-user upgrade price from VC6, and for that I get only three additional instruments. Yet a completely new buyer gets all 24 instruments currently for €299. That doesn't even make mathematical sense and is a big fat 'no thanks' from me.

I am waiting for the demos to download to test drive them. Since I'm still on Collection V, it may be worth it to me in the future to upgrade, though I'd likely wait for a $99 sale.

Mostly I'm in the collection for the CS80 and Piano V, which I paid a small fee to upgrade to V2. I'm still hoping someday it'll have poly aftertouch like the original. I'd pay for that upgrade fast!

Buy the Memory Moon ME80. Interface and presets browser doesn't look as slick as the Arturia CS80V, but (a) it actually sounds like a real CS80 whereas the Arturia one just simply does not, and (b) it has the polyphonic aftertouch. But bear in mind poly aftertouch will only work with midi controllers that support it, and they are few and far between.

Same problem here with the full version. I've bought the upgrade from V6 to V7 (great upgrade price, NOT!) and cannot download the Mellotron instrument. It downloads a tiny bit then just waits... and waits... and waits. Eventually it goes to sleep and couldn't be arsed to do anything further.

I had trouble downloading the updates earlier today, it downloaded the first 100 Mo at high speed and then at 15 Ko/sec. I don't know how they manage their thing, but I got the idea of using a VPN and chosing a French IP and then I was able to download everything at full speed (except the Mellotron).

Hi all,

We have some problem with some of our servers that make the download of the Mellotron slow.
IT department is working on that point right now and I hope they will be able to fix that quickly.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

In the meantime you can upload from his Google drive link ;)

Regarding upgrade cost ...
I am currently updating my V 6 instruments. No mention of paying for new versions. Only CMI has finished installing. I had to re-register it, but that's quick and painless. Now works just as it used to. I see nothing new about it, I'll hafta read the release notes. ... No sign of recording into the sequencer by playing your MIDI keyboard tho. I sure hope that gets added.
Anyhow, based on this, it looks like V 6 owners simply have to upgrade and do a re-register on everything. Only a very mild annoyance. :D
So basically it's 3 new instruments, plus whatever they did to the Hammond.

Regarding the apparent change in Analog Lab to only have a selection of presets for all the instruments .... I can kinda understand that really. I mean, all on its own with no full versions, it gives you a VAST selection of sounds plus extensive control to modify those sounds to new sounds. Pretty much being able to mostly use each synth on its own, but of course not to the full extent as you can if you purchase it. I've always been surprised that Analog Lab contained all the presets, frankly. .. And I appear to have perpeputal upgrade, since I also own the MiniLab (mk 1) \o/ Yay
Frankly tho, I rarely actually use Analog Lab. I just opened the instrument I want ... I've been wondering tho, what's the system overhead for running Analog Lab to use one synth from "inside" it. It is nice to be able to browse and access the FULL "studio" of synths, and then when I find something, open it up and start messing with it. .. But if I'm starting something new, I'll just go directly to the specific instrument. <shrug> I dunno. I can understand people being upset about it too. :D

Yeah, they all seem to have pretty much the same release notes. Primarily UI update stuff it seems.

V 1.4.0
New features
Sliders now hold the mouse position to avoid drag limitations due to screen bounds
When editing a control, the value is now showed next to it and lower bar shows parameter description
Tutorials added on the instruments
Advanced search allowing to quickly access several categories such as instrument, bank, or even preset comments
It is now possible to play the instruments from a computer keyboard in standalone mode
Added keyboard shortcuts to resize the plugins window
New shuffle feature to avoid browsing presets in the same order each time
Reworked playlists workflow, presets are now copied in playlists to avoid unwanted preset modifications
Added “new preset” entry in instruments menu to start a sound from scratch
Reworked audio / MIDI settings window, including standalone BPM parameter
Drop of 32 bits support

Bugfixes
Changing the name of a user preset doesn’t create a copy anymore
No more crashes when selecting ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver in standalone on Windows
No more crashes in Juce based hosts when resizing the plugins window
Reduced Fiber Local Storage consumption on Windows
