Experiments with self oscillating VCFs

I thought some of you might be interested in this patch involving two self oscillating VCFs.

1. Switch off all VCOs, adjust Steiner filter cutoff  and  resonance until you get the VCF self oscillating. You now have a sine wave. You will find that each key gives you the same note.
2. Patch the kbd/seq to the steiner cutoff and turn Mod amount to max. Yoiu should now hear every key give a different note but they will not always be in turn. Tweak cutoff and resonance until you get the tone you want and the note is in tune. You might also have to tweak the mod amount to get the whole scale in tune. Fiddly but can be done with patience.
3. Repeat with ladder filter but patching kbd/seq to the ladder cutoff.
4. Get both ocsillating filters in tune with each other.
5. Add loads of reverb.

I found the tone interesting but the real magic happened when I drove the synth with midi from my DAW. Sustained notes gave greater volume.

The whole efect was almost bell like.

Nice one OldBloke. Sounds a bit like a Prophet 5 type sound or FM.
