Drumbrute Record Start When Using Sync

I would like to know if anybody has successfully setup the DrumBrute to record while in USB sync with a DAW. Is this is possible? Here is how I have the DrumBrute setup with Ableton:

I have my DrumBrute synced with Ableton Live via USB
I hit record on the DrumBrute and record in Ableton
Ableton is set for a 2 measure count-in and when Ableton starts to record the DrumBrute plays, but does not stay in record mode.

Is there a way to force the DrumBrute to stay in record mode so I can play in real time along with Ableton?
