Bought a used Minibrute -- how to test?

Are there any instructions on how to test a Minibrute?

I bought a used unit and not sure how well it works. So far I noticed that mod wheel doesn't work, but that was obvious from the quick start guide [1], and I wonder if there are any procedures to test other functions.
