Processing external audio signal?
« on: February 08, 2005, 08:08:04 am »
I'm running the paid version on my laptop PC in standalone mode.

Is it possible to process an external audio signal, say from the microphone jack on the laptop?

Please say yes . . .

That's a real clever answer, but really, how do you designate an internal audio signal as an input to the preamplifier.
It's not in the manual and I can't locate it in the interface anywhere.
I'm not exactly a stranger to the 2600 (it was my second synthesizer), but this is not intuitive at all.

Thanks,
John

I got the same problem, because the manual (page 60) is a bit poor in this case.

For working in a DAW (I do it in Fruityloops) the solution for triggering Arp for envelope following or ring modulation with external sounds is to insert Arp2600 (FX Version) as an effect in the same mixer slot, were your trigger-sound is routed, too. Then try it like the patch in the linked screenshot (just a quick example). Not perfect, but it works. I hope this answers your question or, when you work in standalone-mode, it helps a bit...
