clock out, divide possibility?
« on: February 26, 2016, 02:18:11 pm »
Hello,
my chain for sync: MPC 1000 ---(midi)---> BSP ---(trig clock)---> q960 sequencer

I'd like to divide my clock out sync from BSP to have a faster loop of my q960.
Is it possible to do that?

Hi,
You can use a drum gate to run a sequencer with an analogue clock input.  You can use a drum instrument track to advance the sequencer.  If your sequencer advances one step per pulse, send it one gate every two steps for 1/2 speed.  You can't double time your external sequencer like this unless it runs on 2ppq (I'm looking at you, Volca and TE owners, you actually have a 'hidden feature', not a 'bug').

that's what I do.

But I'd like to use the clock-out port.

I understand your want for that.  I used the dinsync once.  Missed the ability to send custom swing to my other devices so went back to using a drum channel.
