Hi Lucas,
I've use my BSP to modulate my Nandamonium, which has a very odd cv response. I also use it to play my MS-20 (who's filter the Resonator is based on) while I use Fat Controller to modulate it (another Frostwave box!).
Using the pitch cv as a modulation source is not as a good as using the velocity cv. I've played with the centre-point of the pitch cv, but because all that is set on the BSP via a computer, I didn't mess with it too much (I don't use computers in my studio).
I've made LFO's using the BSP to good effect. Comparing the response between pitch cv and velocity cv in this work mode is how I got a better feel for using the BSP as a cv modulation source.
Using the trig as a mod source for the peak/resonance on the Resonator is a good idea for gating the Resonator. I'd try using the velocity before the pitch for the 'playing' of the cutoff frequency.
So basically the short answer is yes, you should be able to 'play' the Resonator with a BSP nicely.

postscript: I just thought, I never changed from Hz/v when I tried to use pitch cv to modulate, so using v/oct may yield better results.
