I'm trying use an envelope connected to the AM input of any oscillator to emulate VCA envelope before the filter stage. The envelope is triggered by the sequencer only.
This does seem a bit buggy though. At first it only responded to the sustain stage, but after some re-arranging it started to respond to the AD & R phases as well.
I also tried to use a fully open filter as a dummy VCA using its AM input, but that seems to "colour" the sound too much.
Any ideas?
