Beatstep Pro Ableton sync issues

Hi everyone, just joined the forum. Sorry if this is covered elsewhere on this forum. Having problems trying to sync beatstep pro to ableton. Says it's connected but can't sync and tells me to check if the device is in use by another app. I have nothing else running. I downloaded the latest firmware yesterday but no joy. Anybody know how to solve this?

Managed to sort this out.
Diconnected beatstep pro.
Uninstalled all the mcc/ firmware software.
Rebooted computer.
Installed mcc
Turned computer off
Connected beatstep pro
Turned computer on
Ableton -preferences-midi sync choose beatstep pro as a control surface under inputs and outputs.
Midi ports- beatstep pro turn on track, sync and remote.
4th line beatstep pro- turn on sync and remote only
Last line-turn on remote only.
Open mcc and press on firmware update button or where it says unknown and follow updating procedure.
Everything seems to be working great now. (fingers crossed, hehe)
