Logic quits while using Prophet-V2 plug-in
« on: July 21, 2014, 05:30:28 pm »
Hi…sorry if this topic has already come up but I couldn't see anything.

I'm tearing my hair out…been working on a project in Logic Pro X. It's been working fine for ages but now suddenly every time I load the project it crashes within seconds and generates the following error message: "Logic Pro X quit unexpectedly while using the Prophet-V2 plug-in".

There is so much work on the project and I'm unable to access it any more…can anyone help me??

Thanks, Daniel

Hi daniel_rapley,

Can you delete all the .pref files located in this folder: Library/Arturia/Prophet V

Then give it a try.

Next time, make sure to begin a thread at the right place, this is currently Analog Lab's forum.

Hi Jerome Arturia

Many thanks for your reply. Sorry…I assumed that because I was using Analog Lab that this would be the correct forum topic. Prophet is just one of the synth plugins that came bundled with the my hardware.

However…I have moved all the .pref files from this folder (except it was my Analog Lab folder rather than a Prophet V folder) to my trash, but every time I try and load the project it still crashes after a few seconds, and then when I go back and check the Arturia Analog Lab folder, 2 x  .pref files keep mysteriously reappearing: "plugin.pref" and "sound_state.pref". It's like they regenerate themselves every time I try and load the project as the files are still in my trash.

Do you have any further ideas?
Many thanks once again…Daniel

Sorry! Didn't understand it was a prophet V issue linked to Analog Lab.
That's normal if the .pref files are recreated each time you launch the application.
Can you please remove the Prophet V .pref files please and let me know what happens?

Hi again…and thanks again!

Erm…I can't actually find any Prophet V .pref files. I'm looking in my Analog Lab folder. All I can see is 'Analog Lab.vst', 'Analog Lab.vst3', 5 folders: 'bitmap', 'controller', 'dbsrc', 'effect', 'preset library', the 2 x .pref files that keep reappearing and some xml files. Am I looking in the wrong place? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Sorry if I'm being dumb!
Thanks, Daniel

OK - so I did eventually find 1 x Prophet V2 .prefs file in another preferences folder that was not attached to the Analog Lab folder. Anyway…have deleted that and it made no difference…still crashing after a few seconds.
