Sequence Shortening
« on: June 01, 2014, 05:17:25 pm »
Hi Folks  -- I have heard that during a recent West Coast workshop on the Beatstep (Wonderful piece of gear, folks!) there was a method presented to shorten the sequence length, apparently using both control parameters-- but I can't find a description of it, or a discussion of it anywhere. Can anybody help with this information?? Thanks!

Press Shift + Chan buttons and then then pad for the length of the sequence you want.

It is in the manual but not very well highlighted. See bottom of page 11.

Just tried it-- MAGIC!  Thank you so much, Mr. Clean-- I haven't found a simple, functional step sequencer that I like this much in YEARS! Combined with a couple of other pieces of gear, this makes a really great addition to a songwriting scratch pad-- set up an obligato line on the beatstep, synch it to a bit of a drum track, and then noodle over those two with guitar, vocals, a lead keyboard, or even something like the Korg Kaoss Pad, and let the fun begin! And now that I can kick the thing more easily into a three-beat, more fun still! Thanks again!

it's a nice feature. however that means that the sequence always begins from the first pad. Is there any way to cretae a shorter sequence in the middle of a longer way? For example if I have an 8 step sequence, can I make a sequence that runs from steps (pads) 3 to 7?
