Bad Key on Laboratory 49 Controller
« on: January 07, 2012, 06:19:10 pm »
I just got a lab 49 bundled with the V-Collection 2.  No trouble with installation of the base Laboratory software, and no trouble with registration/authorization (I put mine to the Steinberg key that came with the bundle).

Love the controller.  Nice feel, and I like the pitch and mod wheels.

Only one problem so far.  The high E note isn't sounding.  Regardless of patch, regardless of octave selection, that one single E key doesn't sound.  The rest of the controller seems to be working correctly, including the display, all buttons, sliders, knobs, drum pads, and the other note keys.

And oh wow, I love the sounds.

Hmmm, while writing this, I just discovered that the "dead key" actually does sometimes sound when you press it very very lightly, but it does not sound when you play at normal pressures.

I have opened a technical issue with Aurturia, and I will call my web retailer on Monday.

In the meantime, has anybody else had a bad key on their controller?

Leslie

Needless to say there has to be a quality problem with Arturia key beds.
Returned mine for full refund.
