Spark Standalone Crashes EVERYTIME when updating hardware

I having an on going problem. everytime i run spark stand alone it ask if i want to update the hardware. I say okay. Then Spark Standalone CRASHES. if i relaunch it the Hardware is not found.  I have to disconnect the hardware. then when Standalone finds it it asks do you want to update the hardware. CRASH. etc, etc, etc.

Any Ideas
