Project Saving
« on: November 01, 2011, 04:32:35 am »
Hey Forum people,

When I'm working on a project (in this case) standalone mode, tweeking kits, making patterns etc....   i 'save as' the project.  I close the program open it up and add more patterns,  hit 'save' expecting to overwrite and add to the project i'm working on, the program does not remember the changes I've made, eg. the new patterns etc.
I can do a 'save as' and it remembers the additions, but hitting 'save' doesn't remember the new stuff.

Bug? Anyone else get this?

running the latest version 1.1.3.1 of spark and controller firmware is up to date.

cheers!

Yep, that also happened to me so much that I just stopped using it. Hopefully they will fix it oneday & I can start playing with it again, but until then, time is to precious to waste on unpayed beta testing.

Ahhhh..... thanks man,
thought it was maybe a protocol i wasn't following.  Can work around by doing the 'save as' but that ends up with an immeasurable amount of previous versions to delete

Mr Moderator!  We have found a bug  :P

A mi me pasa lo mismo. Estoy planteandome vender este aparato, desde que lo compré no he podido hacer nada serio con él.
El problema es que esto repercute en la confianza que puedo tener con otros productos de arturia.
Una lastima.

Hi all,
this issue has been reported by one user last week.
Unfortunately, we are still not able to reproduce it. So if you can give us some details about your setup (OS, DAW, step to reproduce ...), it will be very helpful.

Kevin

@Dave: Sorry to ear that you can not work properly with Spark. Did you already report this bug to us somewhere I missed it?

Hey Kevin,

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit
Intel i7 2600 @ 3.4 GHz 8GB Ram
Spark Controller connected via USB

Running Spark in standalone mode
Sound output routed to Digi 002R

Load an empty project, with one of the factory kits.
Make something in say - Bank A pattern 1

Save as

Close Spark
Open Spark

Add some more to the pattern, hit save.

Close Spark
Open Spark
Now, whatever you just did the second time around will not be saved.
Happens every time.

I've haven't tried this when running Spark as an RTAS Plug-in
ProTools 9 being my main DAW

Curious to know if anyone with OSX is getting this....
my life in PC land is one big series of work arounds  ;)

Cheers

So,
I finally achieve to reproduce and solve the bug.

Unfortunately we can not provide an update now because other developments are in work in progress. We should provide a beta in 2 weeks.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am very disappointed. I.m sorry...

Is there any status on this fix and will be it be made publicly available. I (like  many others i assume) am at a stand still in terms of writing any music as my projects cannot be saved. Is it feasible to re-install the last good version? Will it retain my existing projects and configurations if i back-rev or re-install? Thanks in advance!

As a work around if you really really really need to use spark, you can hit SAVE AS and save the project as a new one everytime.  That first initial SAVE AS seems to be okay.
It'll keep you going in the meantime  ;)
