Mom, I want USB-Audio-Transfer
« on: January 07, 2010, 03:49:35 pm »
As user of the analog experience I really do love the concept of the origin. And after testing this thing, I really love the sound as well.

What keeps me in standby mode instead of buying?

- I really would like to see USB-Audio transfer into Cubase.

I don't need an software editor or total integration as the virusses offer, but at least the stereo signal should be transferable to my computer via USB.

Unless I see that, I will pray for it.

Audio-thru-USB is scheduled to be implemented.
But for the very moment, if you only want the stereo output, you can use the S/PDIF output (Master stereo ouptut).

Surely audio transfer thru USB2 is a poor audio option. Routing the standard / digital jack outputs on the origin thru a decent soundcard to your DAW would be more appropriate.

I'm more interested in MIDI transfer thru the USB hub

Does it mean I can not automize the sounds with my sequenzer via USB? Do I have to use Midi-In-/Outputs instead?

This is how I handled my synthesizer in 80s and 90s.

Seems that I will keep waiting how this baby develops.

The sound and the concept of origin deserves  commercial success.

Yes.

I don't see your point here.

You say you don't need an integration like the TI's. Only the possibility to get the audio into your sequencer thru the USB. Then there's no automation possible other than using standard MIDI messages. The 1.1 version allows access to Origin parameters using MIDI CCs and the recording of modifcations of these parameters .

If you want to use automation as it is provided by modern sequencers then you need a plug-in that is a bridge between the host sequencer and Origin. This combined with the ability to get the audio directly into the plug-in is the essence of the TI.

I have the impression that this is what you really need.

A question as I don't know for sure I understand the above: Midi-automation will be possible in 1.1, but only via midi in/out or also via usb?
Thx.

Both. In both cases the automation messages are MIDI CCs.
