CS-80V2 Impressions
« on: October 12, 2009, 04:28:39 pm »
Well, I know I have not contributed much to this forum yet since I have not been coming here much lately.

However, I did check the website some days ago and to my surprise CS-80 V2 was available.

I just Love the way this software sounds, there is simply no other company making such great synth sounds.

Now more than ever the CS-80 V2 comes dangerously close to sounding like the real thing, simply amazing.

Arturia, your got me hooked!

Here is a tune that I made with two instances of CS-80V2:
October moon

I love the fact the V2 plug is running much more smooth on my tiny macbook, its great that you made it less processor intensive.

I am hoping that more of the V2 plugs that are coming will be the same, or close. That would be a dream come true for me.

Thanks again for a fantastic product!

?

The plug-in version of CS-80V2 takes about twice as much cpu on my macbook as V1 in any DAW I've tried.

I don't remember the beta sounding this good. Maybe I was too busy trying goofy things in an effort to make it crash (never did). The sound of two detuned saws is fantastic. Nice, fat sound in the bass region.

Played around with the ring mod a bit and had a lot of fun with it.

Love this synth. Now I can hardly wait for a Prophet update. Although the waiting won't be too bad, because of this fantastic CS-80V V2!

Yeah, count me in on that too! Prophet update should be a gas!

Funny how that is? I guess I was a bit wrong on that, sorry.

I'm probably thinking about my other arturia plugins, they take quite a bit of cpu. CS-80 never did take too much cpu compared to say the jupiter 8V.

Still, its sounding great whatever the cpu. I say cpu well spent!

Onewave, that track is absolutely fantastic.

I'm getting a real Peter Gabriel vibe from it, specifically the track 'It Is Accomplished' from his 'Passion' LP. Phenomenal.

Nice stuff Onewave, October Moon that is, very atmospheric.

Re: CS 80v I just like the fact that I can now use it, with the version 2 update and the tweaks within Sonar 8.5 it is a dream to use.

Thanks Undercoverma and Wookie,

The CS-80 represents so many favorite sounds throughout the years growing up, its such a treat to have a working copy of a fantastic emulation.

I really need to thank Arturia for comming up with such wonderful software, truly this will inspire all of us to make more realistic and dreamy sounds with it.

Wookie I really like your song, Am Distraction nice a relaxing tune, good use of sounds, It reminds me of some of the early Tangerine Dream which I Love.

Keep up the good work  ;)
