Minilab Ableton Script not working?
« on: June 23, 2013, 05:43:28 am »
Hey ladies and gents!

I seem to be having a problem with my Ableton script (the downloadable one on the Minilab resources page) working with my PC.  I'm running Windows 7 and Ableton Live 8.3.  The Minilab is recognized, sends midi just fine and is listed in the drag down menu under midi devices, but doesn't map to anything (eg: bottom encoders as volume and so on).  I did the same script update to my older Mac laptop running 8.2.6 and it maps just fine.  Not detrimental to my using the product (I can always midi learn in Ableton) but I was wondering why the script wasn't working.

Thanks for your time!

Danny

p.s. the firmware update....what did it improve on?  also, the updated Analog Lab too?

Hey,
i canīt find the path where to copy it on my mac!!!
I opened the Live icon with right mouseclick and put it there in the midi script folder.
I can find it now in the list, but it doesnīt map anything!!!
Where did you copy it to?
Thanks!
Matthias

The Midi Script Folder also.  The "Arturia Minilab" name wasn't in alphabetical order the first time I did it (on Mac) so scroll all the way down. If it doesn't map, then the same problem must be happening with my PC not mapping either.  We can just "midi learn" the functions but it's not lazy certified :-)

Thanks!
Oh man, i hate this. I buy such a product because i think it works and not to find workarounds... Maybe i will sell it and go for another one...

Have you already repaired the "new firmware"? It had a mistake, the faders didnīt work correctly!
Thanks that the very good german support send me a corrected file!
Sorry Arturia, compatibility really needs to be much better.
I sell the minilab, i bought now an Akai MPK25 and everything works just fine! Without troubleshooting for 3 days!

No, the updates don't make it work more.

Can someone at Arturia tell us what's the plan with the non-working Ableton script and the Minilab ? Thanks.

Depending of your OS
For Mac:
1/ Open Finder
2/ Select the drive
3/ select User / <your user>
4/ Click on the Go option in the tool bar
5/ Press "Alt" button of your Keyboard
6/ select "Library" / Preferences / Ableton / Live <your version> / user remote script /
7/ Put the folder inside of it
