minilab knobs on ipad only move a lttle

The minilab when hooked up to my ipad, and midi learn used to select which knobs are set for cutoff or resonence. When I turn the knob to adjust the the level, it only have movement a couple degrees always. How to I fix it?

I'm having the same problem (and several more!) with the Minilab on my Mac Book Pro, running Logic 9. I've had this thing for two days and it's been nothing but headaches so far.

Have you tried adjusting the settings in the midi control software?
There are several options for the encoders ie:  relative mode, absolute etc. try each one if you don't know what they do, and choose whichever makes your knobs turn right.
Go thru each knob and make sure each are all set the same and make sure to save/export it to a midi pad preset  1-8. If you fail to do this and just close the program your settings won't be flashed to the controller. Also make sure you select the right saved midi preset (shift + pad 1-8) and midi channel (keyboard keys 1-16)before you start assigning midi commands in your music software.


It is a pain, but you only need to do this once. I'd recommend keeping the midi preset 1 in default so it works with Arturia's software, and save your custom preset on the other (2-8) pads.
My minilab is working perfectly with all the iPad apps and ableton 8

I should probably share what I have mine at, just to help you along.
My Starting point for an ableton midi setup:
Midi preset 2:
All encoders set to continuous,absolute,midi ch2 (at first you might have to turn the knobs a couple times for the encoder to catch up) sorry I'm not a midi pro
Pads 1-16 are assigned to midi ch 3,midi note, gate, midi note 35-51 with 35 being pad 1 and going up from there.

Like I said, just a starting point. Far from ideal.
This setup allows you to control a synth on the keyboard and drums on the pads at the same time with out switching midi channels.

Hope that helps out a few of you.

what a big help.  I was about to return mine for another one when checked back here.  I completed your setup and I'm tweaking away on Arturia's iMini miniMg virtualization on iOS, the main reason I bought this thing.  The issue is the relative vs. aboslute midi cc.  That fixes my encoder function on ableton 8 and iMIni.

How is the imini app? I mainly have been using the minilab with the tabletop app. So far it's a pretty slick setup.
I see that it now supports a limited version of imini. Is it worth the money?

I have the same problem  I've tried all combinations in the settings but I can't get the rotary controls to work on ipad. It does seem to be working on my MBP so I don't think it's a hardware fault.

I was about to send mine back too.

Issue fix: When connected to the iPad-press"shift+Pad3" on the minilab(u might to have to do this again/every time after reconnecting the minilab to the iPad).

@Arturia: It wouldn't hurt to add this to the manual! It was a real bummer not to be able to use it right out of the box and searching for the solution for over a day(sorry to sound whiny but its true).
