Dummy midi data question
« on: March 28, 2013, 11:41:52 am »
Dear everyone
I know this may be a dummy question, but I am going nuts on trying to figure out how to export sparks midi data, when working with spark vst in Ableton live 8.1.
I can export midi, and drop them on to midi tracks, but they do not contain all the information in the track programmed in spark. No velocity, or any controller data.

I read somwhere on this site: in Spark preferences panel : activate "send midi from sequencer"
But my preference panel doesnt seem to have a. "send midi from sequencer" buttom!!

What am I missing? Am I a dummy?

First, update Spark to the latest version. I think you have a version older than 1.4, where "send midi from sequencer" didn't exist

Then, activate "send midi from sequencer", create a MIDI track in Live, assign the midi in to your Spark track, and select "Spark" instead of Pre FX or Post FX below.

arm the track, record, it should record what's happening in Spark.
