"Learn" is not deselectable
« on: September 15, 2021, 01:19:29 pm »
Hi,
playing with the demo, I noticed that the midi learn is selectable, but is not "'deselectable" . to exit midi learn mode, you need to switch to another page of the settings.

Thank you Aurélien.
Here is a couple of other things:

- midi CC control of OSC 2 wave selection seems a bit buggy. It  behaves strangely when the oscillator is modulated. It looks like like oscillator 3 is Ok (even when modulated, the offset changes and the change of wave form is hearable, which is not the case with oscillator 2 where trying to change the waveform with midi CC does not seem to do anything, or not always (sometimes it manges to change something but it looks buggy anyway).

- "Hold" button of the Arpeggio: could this button be assigned to any CC number ? or is it reserved to CC64 (sustain/hold pedal) ? (i have not tried CC64 yet, but I imagine that the Hold button could be reserved to cc64. Would be nice is it could be assigned to any midi CC number).

- "Mono", "Reassign" and "Unison" buttons looks like they have been forgotten from assignable parameters :-) they should be remote controllable to adapt user play style quickly from midi CC, and it also enhances the SQ80 performance and particularities of the arturia version (i think).

Have a nice day
Mehdi

Hi thanks for your feedback !

About your CC issue i can't reproduce the bug, osc 2 waverform are well changed with my CC even with all modulations routed (Pitch and AM) !!!
Maybe it's a patch issue ?? Can you reproduce with an Init preset ?

For "Mono", "Reassign" and "Unison", nice catch i'll forward to the team !

Thanks

Hello Aurélien

I have looked again at the "Midi CC not always working with wave selection" , and I think  it is because the wave selectors are particular to each "bank". For example, if I assign a CC while the bank is "SQ 80 waveform" , it will not work with the "Transwave" bank because it is another poti, and it does not use the same midi CC than previously.

It is the same "issue" than with effect buttons (the bypass is often particular to each effect, in 90% of Arturia's synths (it works fine with OBX A, where the bypass is for any effect).

I do not know if it is fixable, but if it is, it should (I suppose this will also show issues in arturia's midi hardware?).
Solving this kind of issues would make Arturia the best VSTi in terms of midi CC and remote controlability.

I will make overlaays/boards for most arturia's synths Would love to show you the SQ80 overlay , but not yet printed ... will post a pic later this week :-)

Have a nice day !
