How to modulate a modulator?
« on: May 16, 2023, 11:35:56 am »
Hi
I’m getting to grips with Pigments but I’m truly stuck!
I have Envelope 2 routed to Filter 1. What I want to do is assign a Macro to the amount of Envelope 2 , (modulation depth in other words) that is routed to the filter. I can’t find any way to assign a Macro, or any other modulation source to do this.

Help!
David

Hello David M

you have assigned the Env 2 to modulate the Filter 1 cutoff.
Now click on the "Assign" of Env 2 in the modulation ribbon.
There is the amount displayed and something called sidechain, click on sidechain and add Macro1, set the amount to 1.00.
Hope that helps.

Link to the manual, section 11 modulation should also help ;)

Thanks Matthieu!

All good now. I had ignored the sidechain section in the manual thinking I didn’t want to do sidechaining!
