Modulation matrix 4 buttons not working

I purchased my MB last Saturday, and I found out today that 4 buttons on the modulation matrix are not working.
Always the same buttons.
When selecting patches through the arrow keys the buttons lit, however, pressing them will do nothing.
It's the same behavior with sequencer, and modulation.

Do I have a defective unit?

Please, advise.

Dirty contacts, perhaps? Was it purchased used?

If that’s the case, I would try pushing each button repeatedly and see if that fixes it. Otherwise, if it was purchased new then return it for another one.

New model. So, guess I am returning it tomorrow.
