[SOLVED] Sound glitches on minifuse 2 caused by RealTek
« on: January 23, 2023, 08:53:59 pm »
Hi,

I recently bought a minifuse 2, but I'm getting glitches - outages on the sound - when I play a game (even musicians need to relax now and then).
In Astroneer and in Assassins Creed Oddyssey, the sound periodically comes and goes. Mostly it's there, but glitches out now and then, a lot. No connection problem with the wires though. And in say.. spotify, the sound works fine and keeps streaming.

Anyone knows whats going on and how to fix it?

Ok, this was not related to the MiniFuse 2.

As it turns out, I was experiencing a problem with a jack on the motherboard, effectively making the mic turn on and off periodically on the RealTek device.
When the device came on and offline, all streaming sound from games would "pause" until the device was connected, and repeat when it fell off the grid. And repeating in an endless cycle in a random patterns.
Disabling the RealTek device entirely fixed the problem.
So... there you have it. Learned something new today. And fixed a hardware problem with the crappy on-board RealTek device it seems.
Also... crackling noise disappeared. Bonus.
