Keylab 88 MKII Mainstage Integration Button Lights and LCD
« on: October 17, 2022, 04:25:08 pm »
I don't know how many times this has been asked but when will the MKII support receiving Midi messages from Mainstage?
For clamshell live performance it is absolutely necessary to have the lights on the keyboard respond to the changes in the DAW.

Easiest example and most common usecase is changing Presets. When set any assignable button to preset 1, 2 ... etc only the one active button should light up when a certain preset is active. But with the MKII 88 only sending status and not receiving any (Mainstage set to receive from MKII and send back to MKII - both normal Midi and DAW tested but nothing worked) in USER Mode you are left with only two options:

1. Gate Mode for all assigned buttons so they just light up when being pressed but no permanent visual feedback on the keyboard
2. Toggle Mode for all buttons -  but they will be out of sync as soon as presets states vary.
It is so annoying...
The Kord Nanocontrol 2 is able to work with Mainstage correctly, though its such a cheap and simple controlling device.  Why is that still an issue with Arturia? Will there be a firmware update for this?

Last but not least:
The LCD should be able two be assigned to the preset name changes. So you can navigate only with your eyes on the keys.

Has anyone found a workaround to control the button lights or the LCD in a way?
