MatrixBrute midi device panel for Cubase/Nuendo
« on: October 15, 2022, 09:14:20 pm »
Hello, I bought a Matrixbrute a couple days ago and I quickly found out there is no vst compagnon.
Therefore I designed a midi device panel for Nuendo and Cubase.
It allows me to record changes from the panel and see where the pots are at after moving them. I can also record snapshots.
I also programmed a midi program patch script to recall the 16×16 presets and name them accordingly to the Matrixbrute.
I borrowed some graphics from user "Brutefactor"'s patch viewer for speed sake. I’ll change them if it’s a problem.
I’ll post it later, i’m still testing and refining the panel. It works great.

Oops, I missed them when looking for device panels... 😯
I have yet to succeed in merging the patch script xml and the device panel xml.
Appart from the design, your creation is more accomplished. 🙏

Ah yes, the panel uses what was available in Cubase at the time, so it looks a bit plain.

As you no doubt have found out, the buttons/switches have no CCs, so they're there for familiarity and ease of navigation when you know the physical panel.

Feel free to use any of it for your custom panel 👍

Here it is. I had to redo it completely from scratch since I didn't check the good marks for preset storing.
It is a MatrixBrute Black Edition midi device Panel with the 16X16 presets locations. You can write down your own presets names to replace my naming "Row Ax" to "Row Px".
Only the Row A has the proper numbering. The device panel engine numbers the presets from 0 to 127 so you'll have to consider this when using it or write down the proper numbers or better, your actual patch names.
I might do it for a future version.
I use device panels with the external instrument feature. One click and everything is set from audio routing to midi channels, device panel and prg changes... Super feature really.
