[SOLVED] Apple M1 compatibility
« on: October 28, 2021, 02:46:13 pm »
My turn to do the plea, though I realise I have in the past answered the same question as a mod on behalf of Arturia.

I was wondering if any Arturia developers out there were in a position to be able to say how close you are to releasing Apple Silicon versions of your V Collection apps.

Shortly I will be updating my ageing hardware (in my signature) with a nice shiny new M1 Macbook Pro with the M1 Pro processor.

From my creativity's perspective the elephant in the room will be my beloved V Collection apps, which I know I can run in 'compatibility mode' via Rosetta 2, but that's like buying a brand new Tesla and having to tow it everywhere with your old diesel Land Rover because where you live you don't have electric.

Any indication of timescales no matter how vague would be great, even if it's just "next year sometime".

I'd like to second this - given a lot of Arturia's competitors have shipped M1 native support, it would be good to have some indication of when this is likely to arrive. For me this is far more important than adding more instruments, for example - my new Mac mini is desperate to do its stuff but Rosetta is really holding back performance

No official mention of Apple silicon in almost FIVE months since MajorFubar asked about it back in October of 2021.  I'm going to Mac Studio later this week so I guess it's goodbye for now, Arturia.  I sincerely hope you notify all your customers by email whenever this happens.

I would ie call this Arturia FAQ article official:
https://support.arturia.com/hc/en-us/articles/4414972951570-Compatibility-with-M1-processors
The article have been availble for a long time.
