Ableton Live session view navigation and scene launch
« on: April 07, 2021, 11:00:31 am »
Hi Arturia Team and everyone,

From my point of view, and I don't think I'm alone, controlling clips in session view with the pads/central button of the KeyLab MKII (88 for me) is not very intuitive and could be greatly improved.

So i have two requests / suggestions  for MIDI Remote Scripts update (see illustration) :
1. add the corresponding 'viewing box' to the pads on the session view, to make it easier navigation
2. launch a selected scene by pressing the central button of the KeyLab.

this could also apply to the Essential series (I have one too)

I know that "anyone" is free in theory to make is own scripts, but personally I would rather develop my music skills while having fun playing your quality products, than diving (and drowning) in programming in Python.

Thank you in advance for your feedback to these suggestions.

(sorry for my google translate English)

Hi there

Concerning the "Scene Launch by pressing the Button" - I totally agree. This is one of the most important Feature, that you need in any Situation with Live.
EVEN MORE: of you reasign the button yourself (i.e. Midi), the MK sends a midi-note, which is missing, if I am using the User mode for further Controls.
Therefore I wished to be able to reprogram the midi notes, that are created by the DAW Mode (when reassigned) in the Midi Control Center, or else Arturia could rewrite to other midi orders than notes.

Hi,

Happy to see that I am not alone andylutter !

@Germain @Matt from Arturia, can we have a feedback to those requests ? Or alternative solutions ?

Thanks

Agreed. Lacking these features has been the biggest dissapointment for me with this keyboard.  The keys are great and everything but work flow with this sucks. My cheaper Novation Launchkey was easier to record new ideas with because it had better integration with Ableton.

UP for Arturia's Team :

Does this proposal have a chance to include a future firmware update or not ?

Thanks.

Hi everyone.
I've logged your feature request.
I hope it will be part of a future update.
Best!

+1 for this feature. It's built into the new Minilab 3 I just bought. Can we bring the Keylab up to date?

I just want to be able to press the main encoder to launch the current scene.
