New Combo organs?
« on: March 12, 2021, 09:17:11 pm »
I love the two combo organs (Vox Continental, Farfisa Compact) included in the vCollection.  I'd like to recommend two more to be added:  The Gibson G101 and Fender Contempo.
The Gibson has numerous features not found in other combo organs, is capable of some very unique synth-like sounds, and was used extensively by Ray Manzarek of The Doors.
The Fender has no particular claim to fame, but has its own unique sound, and is the only other combo sold by one of the major guitar manufacturers.

I'll second that emotion.

<grin> Although I'd also throw in a request for the various Yamaha YC combo organs.

Yes for both of these.

Also … my poor little heart is pleading for a Lowrey V. Give us the Berkshire Deluxe TBO-1 (Pete Townshend) and the Cotillion D575 (Gotye).

The TBO-1 has the infamous "marimba repeat" function (think Baba O'Reilly) that alternates between on-beat and off-beat notes in three-note intervals up the keyboard, which makes it really hard to emulate well with any MIDI FX. And the D575 choir? The stuttering of note repeat on the banjo? So weird, so cool.
