Combine triplets with other

Hello,

I have recently bought a Keystep Pro, and I am still going through all the features it has. However, I am having some issues about recording melodies in Patterns.
I want to record a melody that combines triplets and eighths and fourths notes. I can succeed with Real-time recording, but I am not as accurate as I would like. I am thinking if there is a better way to record it, maybe through step sequencing?
Or is it even possible to do it in another way? Maybe combining it with Ableton or another DAW?

Remember that using triplet notes means that three notes will play in the time taken by two regular notes of the same value - if using 16th notes, there will be three 16th triplet notes played in the time normally taken to play two 16th notes.

This means that in a 4/4 meter a full bar sequence of 16th triplets will contain 24 notes, rather than 16. Logic's default grid locks to straight values, which means that the displayed gridlines will be on the subdivision of 1/4 notes and therefore seemingly not look like they are lining up if you are using triplets.

Think in terms of bars and all will line up properly, even if it looks a bit odd.

Thank you! It doesn’t seem to want to play back in a coherent way. If I’m not mistaken, you’re saying that Logic won’t LOOK correct with its subdivisions. What I’m getting is difficulty finding a way to make the Logic metronome seemingly sync up with the pattern in the Beatstep which I can clap in 4/4 to. I spent a hour and a half seemingly on it last night and felt like there was some math I wasn’t getting right to set logics time signature to.
