B3 Not Retaining Midi Settings
« on: December 18, 2020, 10:12:14 am »
 ???

The latest version of B3 V2 is not retaining its midi channel settings.

The default channel settings are channels 1,2 and 3 (Upper, Lower and Bass).

I need to change them to 2, 3 and 4 to match my outboard gear, so I use the facilities provided in 'Settings' to change them.  That works fine - the Upper keyboard responds to incoming midi data on Ch2, the Lower responds to Ch3 and the Bass pedals respond to Ch4.

However, as soon as a different Preset is selected on the upper Toolbar, the midi channel settings revert back to the default 1,2 and 3.

Is there some mysterious button that has to be clicked to save the midi settings, or is this a bug?

I've realised that the midi channel settings are in fact separate for each preset. This means that in order to get B3 V2 to respond correctly to your midi instrument setup, it is necessary to modify every preset separately, which seems unwieldy and a little over-the-top, After all, it is not likely that I am going to change my keyboard setup for every preset!

There is actually a Global Midi Channel available, but it only seems to permit a single channel to be set, not the required three channels, so I'm not sure what that is for.

Anyway, it's not a bug, it's a feature.  :)

Bonne fête.

I've now changed the three midi settings for each preset to the required channels 2,3 and 4. Unfortunately, now there are duplicate entries for many of the presets (I guess just the default ones), one containing the default midi 1-2-3 settings and the other the new settings.

I can find no way to delete a preset. Is there a way that I am missing?

Ideally I would like to dump the original presets and just retain the correct ones.

@Arturia - the Upper, Lower and Bass midi channel settings need to be GLOBAL. Please.
