Beatstep & Bass Station II Filter Cutoff
« on: October 23, 2020, 09:42:09 pm »
I'm trying to figure out how to send the correct MIDI CC from my BeatStep to my Bass Station II to control the filter cutoff.  The BSII manual shows a 2 byte CC at 16 & 48 with a range of 0-255. I'm not sure how to put this in midi control center, I tried RPN and NRPN but neither worked.  Is this something that is possible on the BeatStep?

Also, what the hell is up with the unintelligible captcha?

I don't think the BeatStep is capable of sending a 2-byte (i.e. a 14bit resolution) MIDI CC, so you may resort to just controlling the MSB byte, basically the "lowest" resolution one. You'll end up with regular 7-bit resolution. Not ideal, but... usable.

That was kind of my thought too after trying so many ways to get it to work.  That's not ideal but not a deal breaker, I only randomly realized that I could use the BeatStep with my Keystep for a cheap but awkward dawless setup and wanted to explore what was possible.
