Vocoder update question
« on: August 27, 2020, 01:25:37 am »
If I want to use the audio input to bring an external signal into the MF not for vocoding, but just for processing through the analog filter, is this possible?

Hello,
unfortunately it is not possible, but have been requested by some users. I agree it could be fun.
Don't know what will be decided in the future.
thanks,

Thanks for the reply.  In looking at the new parameters, that was my conclusion as well.  Something like a balance or wet/dry setting could be added to allow this capability (and would also be beneficial for vocoding).  Should be an easy thing to add in a future update.  Please consider this my request for such a feature.

Thanks again,

Oh god yes, to be honest, that's the first thing I tried to achieve when trying the new vocoder engine. I wished we could just let the raw audio in to the filters and more. This is a no brainer, the value it adds to the unit is insane. You could send a rhythm from another gear and choose to apply effects on it or not, same for the voice. It makes the MF a purely live oriented synth, especially for those making loops. It is a growing trend and would place the MF as the reference synth for that type of practice.
