Filter Amt does not send CC
« on: January 18, 2020, 04:12:59 am »
Hi, I mailed support about this but I thought I'd try here too.

Almost every other dial on the MicroFreak sends MIDI cc, but the Filter Amt dial sends nothing at all.

If I open up MIDI control center and look at the MIDI console view I can see a MIDI monitor of all the keypress and CC events I'd expect , so Attack, Decay/release and Sustain all send CC's but the Filter Amt knob sends nothing at all.

is this normal?
I'm on the latest firmware, 2.03.  I haven't tried it with the previous firmware.

The amp env is analogue maybe this knob did not get digital control due to this.

I don't think any knob on this device is "analogue" as they all store their parameter values into presets (digital memory) and the same Env knob can be recorded into onboard sequences (a digital memory buffer).  So there's certainly both static and dynamic  data reading/writing on this knob ... but for some reason it's not sending or receiving MIDI.   ???

HI everyone,
yes this specific filter amount knob is not sending any CC. 2 reasons for this :
- this knob in fact emulating the "env to cutoff" connection in the matrix. when turning this knob, you may have noticed that is connection is lit up in the matrix, and the screen is also reflecting this use.
- this knob is bipolar(-100+100), which complicates CC handling.

sorry for the inconvenience, we still seeking a way to improve this.
best,
