Laptop Sound

I just purchased a new laptop and was seriously disappointed with the lack of audio options. So... What are your suggestions for a nice audio output on a laptop. Despite the problems MMV has with Creative Audigy ASIO, Creative has a nice PCMCIA Audigy card. M-Audio has a couple of very nice Firewire audio options, too.

I really just want to get some better sound into the speakers.

I get great results using an Echo card on my laptop. MMV2 and other softsynths sound terrific through it.

If you are experiencing odd noises, you may need to use a two prong adapter to lift the ground on your AC adapter.  It helps to remove energy saver and screen saver functions as well.
