Sticky nobs

So apparently the design decision to use rubber coated nobs by Arturia was a Booboo.
The rubber just melts and starts to gather hair and gunk.
So I just spent a whole afternoon pulling off the nobs and cleaning them w 91%alcohol.

They are all nice and clean now shiny and beautiful  again.
Make sure you are outside to do this.
Just pull all of the nobs off and rub them with a wash rag.
I used alcohol but dish soap might work too.
You have to clean the slider nobs also.

I consider this just basic maintenance.
Ill have to do this to my microbrute also but they are not sticky yet.

BE CAREFUL putting the nobs back on.
I put one on wrong and then it was loose forever, I just put a drop of elmers in the nob and it held.

Have fun, make sure you use alcohol OUTSIDE!

I emailed Arturia as my white Microbrute SE has the "knob rot"; they will sell me replacement knobs. For all 20 knobs it will cost me £75!! and £5 each for the pitch and mod wheels
They will be the same knobs so the issue of sticky knobs will reappear in time on the new knobs.
So not ideal.

I was wondering if the keystep37 knobs fit the micro brute as they are the fully plastic non rubberised type?
Personally I don't care what colour or shape the knobs are as long as i can replace these old ones.

The Keystep ones are OK after all this time (since release).

But you could wash/rub the knobs with isopropyl alcohol, that's how I fixed the issue on the knobs and side panels of the OG Minibrute, an Audio interface (Propellerhead Balance) and a Nektar Sustain pedal.
