Noisy output

My MatrixBrute is NOISY. It's the noisiest thing on my mixer. Significant hiss.
I have it plugged into quality ProCo stereo 1/4" cables straight into my PreSonus Studio Live 16.0.2 firewire mixer. Gain knob is at 1/4 turn. Level is at 0db.
In fact, with the volume halfway up it is registering an occasional single led on my input signal meter on the left output.
Guess I'll contact Sweetwater. Annoying. Anyone else seen this issue?

No, it should not be particularly noisy. I just did a simple and imprecise (through a mixer which adds noise of its own) measurement with a spectrum analyzer, and that shows around 90dB SNR over the full audio spectrum.
