Does this exist
« on: March 01, 2018, 10:48:32 am »
I love the buchla but would really like to have a kind of midi interface that let me genuinely plug in real cables and make connections that were then realise on the virtual buchla is there any kind of midi keyboard or patch bay emulator that exists like that?

No i don't think so.

I would be happy if connections could be done using a computer keyboard and for example type a letter for a output and a input to make a connection. Without using cables.

If it was possible to assign CC numbers to inputs and outputs, then i suppose any controllers in generel could be used.
And a controller that use cables could be done, but would be more exspensive to use, and in reallity i guess it would be a sort of hidden buttons anyway.

If a controller don't have the same GUI as the software, then you don't get the authentic feel, even if you are using cables.
A dedicated controller for Buchla V does'nt exist unless someone have build one for them self - i assume.

A good way to make a controller like that would be with an iPad. If Arturia made iPad controllers for their software you could control everything with fingers on the screen. The Arturia keyboards are good but will only go so far with a lot of the synths. Like the CS-80 V, the Buchla V demands the player use the performance controls continuely to really use the instrument properly.

Thanks all I’m going to lay around with an old Korg Microkontrol and see how far I can get with its knobs and sliders but alas no cables!

I really like the idea of controlling Arturia synths with iPad instead of their keyboard.
