Transposing Beatstep Pro Drum
« on: July 05, 2017, 09:31:19 pm »
Hey gang,

I'm trying to transpose the lower 8 pads of the Drum part up 24 semitones, so I can trigger my new Nord Drum 2. I have only managed to do that when I'm in Control Mode. When I switch over to Drum to record something, the pads go back to their default C1, C#1, D1, etc. I can find any way to transpose the Drum part in the MIDI Control Center, just when the unit is in Controller mode. Any advice? Thanks!

Did you move your settings to the BSP.  You need to drag the project over to the BSP window on the upper left of MMC to be sure that the settings have been applied.
Currently running https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1311723 / www.modulargrid.net, sequencing with KSP and recording with a Zoom (no DAW involved, for better or worse ;) )

Hi Ned,
The settings for CONTROL MODE and DRUM mode are separated.
The settings for the pads in DRUM mode is in the MCC tab called "DEVICE SETTINGS". You need to choose the option "Custom" for Drum Map and select your pads individually.
Please have a look here in order to get the translation between actual notes and numbers:

That is true for CONTROL MODE as these settings are project dependent. Unlike CONTROL MODE, the Drum Map for DRUM mode is not project dependent and is a Global machine setting. In this case, there is no need to drag and drop anything.

Best,
Y.

Cheers for that.  I was doing the drag'n'drop thing just to be sure in.

Thank you so MUCH! I hadn't thought that I could scroll down for more options/settings...  :-[ :-\
