clock rate - "1 step": what is it?

Hi there fellow Brutonians,

A question about the drumbrute manual:

Could someone please explain what the "1 step" clock output is?
(i'm asking as there is no further explanation of this in the manual)

is it 1 pps (pulse per step)
(an idea i got from reading the Beatstep Pro manual)?

or

is it 1 step clock (which is equivalent to 4 ppq)?
(like mentioned here:
https://www.arturia.com/faq/utilization/keystep-how-to-synchronize-my-keystep-with-an-analog-clock )

Is "pulse per step" the same as "pulse per quarter note"?

what would be a typical use for this "1 step" clock (perhaps syncing a LFO?)?

perhaps my post wasn't ideal...

on page 51 of the Drumbrute manual,
1 step is defined as: 1 pulse per quarter note (ppqn)
that would be 4 pulses in one pattern (4/4) of the drumbrute, correct?

on page 11 of the manual,
it is defined as  "a single pulse per step"
if a "step" is one of the 16 steps in a pattern of the drumbrute,
then there are 16 pulses in one pattern?

 

(there must be an error in my thinking)

Hi Steve,

There is a mistake in the French manual. The reality is 1 clock per step. There will be 32 clock sent in a 32 step long pattern.
Note : It does not depend on Time division.
