Firmware update errors - OSX
« on: September 20, 2016, 06:48:43 pm »
Hello Keystep crew,

Is anyone else having real difficulty updating the firmware on the Keystep using the OSX software?

I keep getting errors saying the Keystep wasn't found or the firmware failed to install. It's not a major issue at the moment since the lastest firmware update is pretty minor but it's frustrating none-the-less.

Got it all updated now. A few times after unplugging and replugging it didn't seem to go into 'Firmware Update Mode' for some reason but after several attempts I got it to work.

To know you are in 'Firmware Update mode' and able to proceed with the installation you need to look for the HOLD, SHIFT, OCT- and OCT+ buttons flashing in a circular fashion. I waited 20 seconds or so once the flashing had begun and then clicked update and the installation completed after about 30 seconds.

Hope this helps some other OSX users.

I have updated it several times but the new firmware message keeps poping. How can I know if it's updated and it's a software bug, or it's hasn't really updated though at one time it said it did?
